    On-Line University

TutorPro and a number of their larger customers and partners are establishing an On-Line Law Firm University offering training in core skills (attracting Continuing Professional Development Credits) required by all lawyers, paralegals and legal secretaries.  This approach is being driven by the current high costs involved in bringing staff up to full productive speed within a Firm.  For instance, using traditional methods, it can take six months for an associate and secretary to become fully operational as each law firm has (at the moment) to assume the whole burden of industry specific training.  In house training had become more onerous on each Law Firm as Colleges and Universities are no longer offering law office training to secretarial and paralegal staff.  The On-Line University, using TutorPro courseware and Learning Management System, will train all staff more quickly and, being a shared project, costs less.

This approach is being used by non law firms who wish to offer their staff an On Line University within their organisations.  This can incorporate all types of learning as well as e-Learning and has the great benefit of bringing the availability of training to the desktop, as close to the user as possible to encourage take up, while showing management what training has been undertaken.
